BMCO partners with The New York Women’s Foundation to celebrate orchestral works by female composers. BMCO premieres its 2019 commission, Six Narratives, a song cycle for six voices and chamber orchestra by Brooklyn resident Hannah Selin, Behind Barbed Wire for Solo Saxophone with Chamber Orchestra, Narrator, and Video by Deon Nielsen Price, and Concertino for flute, piano and orchestra by Germaine Tailleferre. The orchestra will be led by guest conductor Corrado Valvo. Soloists include Sylvia Kahan, piano, Eva Ding, flute, Chika Inoue, saxophone, Amber Evans, soprano, Christina Kay, soprano, Shannyn Rinker, soprano, Melanie Long, mezzo-soprano, Megan Schubert, mezzo-soprano and Elenna Sindler, mezzo-soprano.
